Save the Date September 23rd for Tree Pittsburgh's Arbor Aid Music & Pawpaw Festival from 11am-9pm at the historic Carrie Furnaces. This family-friendly fundraiser includes live music all day, artists, kids activities, food trucks, local beer, and all things pawpaw. What is pawpaw, you ask? Known as "America's forgotten fruit," pawpaw is a small tree native to the eastern United States which produces a yellowish-green to brown fruit. Having a taste similar to papaya, banana, and mango, the fruit is often foraged and used in everything from sorbet to cookies to beer.

The event will be emceed by the talented Gab Bonesso and will feature the Spirit Airlines stage with 10+ local, regional, and national acts for Pittsburgh’s first-ever Pawpaw Festival.
